We are homeschooling and definitely not alone. We will have a book, pencil, paper education here, with tons of outdoor elements, and friends in person. Laptop in upper years? Absolutely, you need to be able to communicate your ideas in a computer-centric world. But certainly not the mainstay of the learning here.
